Homa and Migdal
About This Museum
This place is unlike any museum I've ever been to—it's entirely dedicated to the story of the 'Tower and Stockade' settlements, those brave overnight communities built by Jewish pioneers in the 1930s to literally create facts on the ground. You get to walk through a full-scale, reconstructed settlement, complete with a wooden watchtower and a defensive wall, which makes the history feel incredibly immediate. Inside the main building, the exhibits are a poignant mix of old photographs, personal letters, and everyday objects that tell deeply human stories of resilience. It’s a powerful and surprisingly hands-on way to connect with a pivotal chapter of Israel's history.
Collection Highlights
The centerpiece is definitely the life-sized tower and stockade you can explore. You'll also find original tools used for construction, stark black-and-white photos capturing the frantic building process, and audio recordings from people who actually lived there.
Visitor Information
It's located within the gorgeous Gan HaShlosha National Park (Sachne), so you can easily make a full day of it—just pack your swimsuit for those amazing natural spring-water pools after your history lesson.
Architecture & Building
The main museum building is modern and unassuming, but it's completely upstaged by the authentic-looking wooden fortress built right outside, which is the real star of the show.
