Heritage Museum
About This Museum
So, I stumbled upon this absolute gem of a place tucked away on a quiet street in Saint-Pierre. The Musée Héritage feels like stepping directly into the islands' past, and it's way more personal than some stuffy, big-city museum. You can almost hear the whispers of the fishermen and sailors who built their lives here. It’s a surprisingly intimate look at what makes this little French archipelago tick.
Collection Highlights
I was completely captivated by the intricate scale models of the old fishing schooners—you can really see the craftsmanship. They also have these beautifully preserved traditional costumes and some fascinating artifacts from the Prohibition era, which apparently was a very busy time for the island!
Visitor Information
It's easy to find at 1 bis, rue Maître Georges Lefèvre. Definitely check their hours online before you go, as they can be seasonal. It's a perfect rainy-day activity or a great way to spend a couple of hours getting to know the soul of the place.
Architecture & Building
Housed in a charming, classic stone building that looks like it has its own stories to tell, it fits right into the historic feel of the town.
