Heritage Farm Museum & Village
About This Museum
Tucked away just outside Huntington, the Heritage Farm Museum & Village is a place that feels like stepping back in time. It all started with one man's passion for preserving the Appalachian way of life before it vanished. Now, it's a whole village where you can wander past a one-room schoolhouse and hear the echoes of children's lessons. The smell of old wood and the quiet hum of the hills surround you, making history feel wonderfully present.
Collection Highlights
You can't miss the old country store, still stocked with vintage tins and goods, or peek inside the blacksmith shop to see the tools that built this region. The log cabins, some dating back to the 19th century, are furnished just as they would have been, telling silent stories of the families who called them home.
Visitor Information
It's easy to spend a whole afternoon here exploring. Just head out to Harvey Roadβyou can't miss the signs. Wear comfortable shoes for walking between the buildings.
Architecture & Building
The heart of the village is its collection of authentic and recreated log structures, from simple single-pen cabins to more substantial dog-trot homes, all built in the traditional Appalachian style.
