I stumbled upon this place almost by accident, a stunning Ottoman-era mansion tucked away on a quiet street in Yozgat. Stepping inside feels like walking directly into the late 19th century, with each room meticulously restored to tell the story of a wealthy family's daily life. You can almost hear the whispers of conversations in the grand reception hall and smell the imaginary coffee from the traditional kitchen setup. It’s not a stuffy museum at all, but a beautifully preserved home that just happens to be open for us to explore.
Collection Highlights
The most captivating exhibits are the personal items - intricate clothing, handwritten letters, and beautiful copperware in the kitchen that look like they were used yesterday. Don't miss the detailed haremlik and selamlık sections, which show the fascinating separation between the family's private and public living spaces.
