It's a starkly beautiful sculpture park where art and the vast Mojave Desert landscape collide in the most unexpected ways. The place has this wonderfully spontaneous feel, born from a group of Belgian artists who decided to leave their mark here starting back in the 1980s. Wandering this free, open-air gallery among the creosote bushes under that huge blue sky is an experience you simply can't get in a traditional museum.
Collection Highlights
You absolutely can't miss 'The Last Supper,' a hauntingly beautiful ghost-like rendition of the famous scene made from plaster and fiberglass. Nearby, a bright yellow female icarus lies on the ground, and a massive, 25-foot-high pink penguin made from cinder blocks stands guard, offering a perfect, quirky photo op against the desert backdrop.
