Golden Jubilee National Geological Museum

About This Museum

Tucked away in Pathum Thani, just a short trip from Bangkok's chaos, this place is a total surprise. I was immediately struck by the sheer scale of the main hall, where a towering dinosaur skeleton greets you—it’s not something you expect to find! The exhibits are anything but dry; they tell the epic story of our planet with stunning gems, interactive earthquake simulators, and even a walk-through volcano model. It’s the kind of museum that makes geology feel like an adventure, perfect for curious minds of all ages.

Collection Highlights

You can't miss the immense Phu Wiangosaurus dinosaur skeleton dominating the entrance. My favorite part was the glittering treasure trove of gemstones and minerals, including gorgeous Thai sapphires. The life-like walk-through volcano exhibit and the room where you can experience a simulated earthquake are both unforgettable and surprisingly fun.

Visitor Information

Getting here is easiest by car or taxi, as it's located on the campus of the Department of Mineral Resources in Khlong Luang. Best of all? Entry is completely free, though it's wise to double-check their opening hours online before you make the trip.

Architecture & Building

The building itself is a modern, sleek structure with clean lines and lots of glass, giving it a bright and airy feel that’s a far cry from old, dusty museums.
