Ferrum Art Gallery (fosta cladire PSI CSH)
About This Museum
Tucked away on Strada Constantin Bursan, the Ferrum Art Gallery is a real piece of living history. It's not in some fancy new building, mind you, but right inside the old PSI CSH structure—a place that just hums with industrial memories. They've done a wonderful job turning those robust halls into a surprisingly intimate space for art. You can still feel the soul of the old place in the ironwork and the sheer scale of the rooms.
Collection Highlights
The heart of their collection is a powerful mix of contemporary Romanian sculpture and bold, modern paintings, many of which play off the building's raw, industrial character. I'm always drawn to the metalwork pieces; seeing forged iron and steel reinterpreted as art inside these walls feels just right.
Visitor Information
Pop in any afternoon; it's free, and the staff are lovely folks who genuinely love sharing stories about both the art and the building itself. Stick around for a coffee afterwards and just soak in the atmosphere—it’s a proper local gem.
Architecture & Building
A classic example of Hunedoara's industrial-era architecture, this is a no-nonsense utilitarian building with a solid, rectangular form, large factory-style windows that flood the spaces with light, and those distinct touches of exposed brick and iron.
