Ferdinand E. Marcos Presidential Center
About This Museum
You might be surprised to learn that the final resting place of Ferdinand E. Marcos is not in Manila's Heroes' Cemetery, but here in his lavish Batac mansion, preserved in a glass crypt. This sprawling complex is far more than a museum; it's a meticulously curated monument to his life and legacy. Stepping inside feels like entering a time capsule of the Marcos era, filled with opulent furnishings and personal artifacts. Itβs a deeply immersive, and for many, controversial, experience that powerfully frames his 20-year rule.
Collection Highlights
The collection is anchored by Marcos's wax-like body itself, viewable in the air-conditioned mausoleum. You'll also find his extensive medal collection gleaming in cases, vintage photographs of state visits with world leaders, and even some of his trademark formal Barong Tagalog shirts on display.
Visitor Information
It's right on Marcos Avenue in Batac Cityβyou can't miss it. Just remember to dress respectfully; they're quite strict about no shorts or sleeveless tops inside the mausoleum area.
Architecture & Building
Think less traditional Filipino and more imposing, white-walled presidential mansion with grand columns and manicured lawnsβit has a distinctly formidable, almost palace-like feel.
