About This Museum
You'd never guess this was a museum from the outside—it looks exactly like a tiny, whitewashed Greek chapel clinging to the cliffs. Step inside, and the air is cool and smells of old stone and beeswax. Instead of pews, you're surrounded by ancient pottery fragments and rusted farming tools laid out on simple wooden stands. It feels less like a curated exhibit and more like you've stumbled into someone's private collection of island memories.
Collection Highlights
Look for the delicate gold-leaf icons of the archangels themselves, their painted eyes still watching over the space. My favorite was a case full of surprisingly intact clay oil lamps, each one blackened from use centuries ago.
Visitor Information
It's part of the Monastery of Agios Andreas, so just look for the main complex in Milia. Heads up, it's super small and doesn't have set hours—if the monastery is open, you can usually pop in.
Architecture & Building
It's a classic example of a Cycladic chapel, all brilliant white with a simple blue dome, built right into the rocky hillside as if it grew there.
