Tucked away on 1a Calle Oriente in the heart of old San Salvador, CEDART Interactivo feels more like a vibrant community workshop than a formal museum. The air is often thick with the scent of copal incense and freshly worked wood, a place where you're just as likely to see an artisan shaping clay as you are to admire a finished piece. It’s a living, breathing celebration of Salvadoran craft, where the 'interactive' name truly means you can roll up your sleeves and get involved. This isn't a place for hushed tones and velvet ropes; it's for getting your hands on the beautiful traditions that define this country.
Collection Highlights
You'll find master weavers demonstrating intricate patterns on traditional looms and potters from Ilobasco crafting their famous miniature 'sorpresa' figurines. The real highlight, though, is the chance to try your own hand at indigo dyeing, working with añil just like our ancestors did.
Visitor Information
It's right downtown, so parking can be a bit of a hunt—your best bet is to grab a taxi or ride-share. Just walk in; the folks there are wonderfully friendly and will gladly show you what they're working on that day.

Housed in a renovated townhouse with high ceilings and worn tile floors, it has the unpretentious, welcoming charm of an old family home.
