Casa di Roccapina
About This Museum
You won't believe it, but the whole reason this place exists is a lion. A massive, weathered lion carved from stone watches over the valley from the hills above, and down below, his 'house' is just as fascinating. Stepping into the Casa di Roccapina feels less like visiting a sterile museum and more like wandering through a beautifully restored Corsican home, where every object has a story. I was completely absorbed by the everyday items from centuries past, imagining the lives of the shepherds and farmers who once used them. It’s an incredibly intimate look into the island's rural soul.
Collection Highlights
The collection brings Corsican rural life to life with things like traditional hand tools, beautifully crafted pistols, and rustic furniture. You'll also find fascinating archaeological finds dug up from the local area.

It's located right on the T40 road between Sartène and Propriano—you really can't miss it if you're driving along that stunning coast. Just be sure to check opening times as they can vary by season.

The building itself is a classic example of sturdy Corsican stone architecture, looking like a traditional manor house that has been part of the landscape for generations.
