Bulqees art house
About This Museum
Tucked away on a quiet street in Salt, the Bulqees Art House feels less like a formal museum and more like stepping into the home of a deeply creative friend. It’s a space that pulses with the soul of Jordanian modern art, feeling both intimate and profoundly inspiring. The light-filled rooms, with their high ceilings and old stone walls, create this incredible dialogue between the historic building and the vibrant contemporary works inside. You leave feeling like you’ve discovered a secret, not just seen a collection.
Collection Highlights
The heart of the collection is a stunning array of paintings by Jordanian pioneers, where bold abstracts sit alongside poignant figurative works that tell local stories. I was completely drawn to a series of portraits where the artist used such thick, textured paint that the faces seemed to emerge from the canvas. There are also these delicate, intricate sculptures carved from local olive wood that you just want to run your fingers over.
