Boulder City-Hoover Dam Museum
About This Museum
What makes our little museum so special isn't just the story of the Dam, but the story of the town built to create it. We're all about the people—the 'high-scalers' dangling over canyons and the families who carved a community out of the desert. You'll find their lives preserved here in black-and-white photographs and personal letters home. It’s a humble space that holds some pretty big history.
Collection Highlights
You can't miss the massive penstock section that greets you, or the worn leather boots of a high-scaler. We have entire walls dedicated to gritty construction photos and personal accounts that tell you exactly what it was like to live through those hard, hopeful years.
Visitor Information
We're tucked upstairs in the historic Boulder Dam Hotel, a quiet spot to escape the heat. Pop in for an hour; it's a perfect stop before or after you see the Dam itself.
Architecture & Building
The museum is located on the second floor of the beautifully restored Boulder Dam Hotel, a charming two-story building from the 1930s that feels every bit a part of the era it represents.
