About This Museum

You know you're in for something different when you realize the museum is actually housed in the very same former Ma Canfield's Cafe building where Bonnie and Clyde were ambushed back in 1934. It’s a little eerie, but completely fascinating. The walls are covered with old newspaper clippings that scream the headlines from that day, and you can feel the weight of history all around you. They've even got a replica of Clyde's stolen Ford V-8 sitting right there, riddled with what looks like a hundred bullet holes.

Collection Highlights

The absolute star of the show is the actual, bullet-riddled 'death car' they were inβ€”it's chilling to see up close. You can also get a real sense of their personalities from personal items on display, like some of Bonnie's poetry and a few of their guns.

Visitor Information

It's right on Main Street in tiny Gibsland, Louisianaβ€”you really can't miss it. Just be sure to check their hours online before you go, as they can be a bit seasonal.

Architecture & Building

It's a modest, unassuming brick building that used to be a small-town cafe, so it doesn't look like a typical museum from the outside at all.
