Bocskai István Museum
About This Museum
Named for the great Hungarian freedom fighter, István Bocskai, this museum has been the cultural heart of Hajdúszoboszló for generations. It feels less like a formal institution and more like a journey into the region's soul. You'll find everything from ancient archaeological finds that tell of the area's first inhabitants to rich displays of traditional folk art. The story of the Haiduk soldiers, granted this land by Bocskai himself, forms the powerful core of the collection.
Collection Highlights
Don't miss the stunningly detailed Haiduk weaponry and their distinctive attire, which brings their rebellious spirit to life. Another gem is the exhibition on local folk life, filled with vibrant textiles and beautifully carved wooden objects that showcase incredible craftsmanship.
