You'd never guess that this iconic building, shaped like a traditional Ifugao house, stands right in the middle of the city's busy government center. Stepping inside feels like leaving the cool Baguio air for a journey deep into Cordillera culture. I was completely captivated by the detailed dioramas showing the daily life of different indigenous groups. Upstairs, a fascinating exhibit on Baguio's history tells the story of how this mountain retreat was born.
Collection Highlights
The massive collection of bulul (rice granary gods) is unforgettable, each with its own distinct character. Don't miss the stunning display of traditional textiles, from the bold reds of Kalinga to the intricate patterns of Bontoc.
Visitor Information
It's a compact museum, so you can easily see everything in under an hour—a perfect rainy-day escape. It's right on Governor Pack Road, super easy to find and very affordable.
Architecture & Building
The building itself is a replica of an Ifugao native house, raised on stilts with a dramatically steep thatched roof that immediately catches your eye.
