Aruba Aloe Factory Museum and Store
About This Museum
For over a century, the Aruba Aloe Factory has been a cornerstone of the island's story, its history deeply rooted in the arid soil. It all started back when aloe vera was so prized they called it 'green gold'. Today, you can wander through the original building and see where the magic still happens. The sweet, earthy scent of aloe fills the air, a constant reminder of the living tradition you're walking through.
Collection Highlights
You'll get to see the antique machines, like the old hand press they used to extract the precious gel. One of my favorite things is watching a live demonstration where they hand-fillet an aloe leaf right before your eyes—it’s quite a skill. The tour really connects you to the entire process, from plant to product.
Visitor Information
They run free educational tours throughout the day, so you can just pop in. Afterwards, don't miss the gift shop; it's the perfect place to pick up some of their wonderfully soothing products as a genuine piece of Aruba to take home.
Architecture & Building
It's a charming, sun-bleached colonial-style building with those classic cunucu walls and a rustic, working-factory feel that hasn't been polished away.
