About This Museum

Would you believe this fantastic art museum is completely free? Tucked away on the WVU campus, it's a total hidden gem that feels miles away from the usual campus bustle. I was blown away by the sheer varietyβ€”one minute you're looking at ancient Chinese ceramics, and the next you're completely absorbed by contemporary Appalachian quilts. It's the kind of place where you can pop in for twenty minutes and end up staying for two hours, constantly discovering something new around every corner.

Collection Highlights

They have these incredible large-scale glass sculptures that play with light in the most mesmerizing way. Don't miss their collection of American prints and paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries, which gives you a real feel for the artistic pulse of the region over time.

It's free to get in, which is amazing, but definitely check their website for hours before you go as they can be a bit unique. Parking is available right by the building in the Fine Arts lot.

Architecture & Building

The building itself is this sleek, modern structure with a dramatic glass entrance that floods the lobby with light, creating a really inviting and bright atmosphere.
