Arizona Museum of Natural History
About This Museum
You don't expect to come face-to-face with a snarling Tyrannosaurus Rex the moment you step inside a museum, but that's the thrilling welcome you get here. The place is a true time machine, whisking you from the age of colossal dinosaurs straight into the ancient world of the Hohokam people. I even got my hands wet trying my luck at gold panning out back. It’s one of those rare museums where you're just as captivated by a 10,000-year-old artifact as you are by a 70-foot-long dinosaur skeleton.
Collection Highlights
The dinosaur hall is unreal, featuring a massive animatronic T-Rex and a three-story Dinosaur Mountain. You can also explore a full-scale recreation of a Hohokam village and then try your hand at panning for real gold in the courtyard.
