Μουσείο Άρτου και Σίτου / Bread and Wheat Museum
About This Museum
Tucked away in the charming village of Lefkimmi on the island of Corfu, this is a place that completely surprised me. It’s a whole museum dedicated entirely to the story of bread, which sounds simple until you step inside and see how deep that story goes. I was fascinated by the old tools and machinery, imagining generations of bakers using them. It really makes you appreciate that daily loaf on a whole new level.
Collection Highlights
They have these beautiful, creaky wooden kneading troughs and antique grain mills you can almost hear working. My favorite part was seeing the traditional Corfiot breads, each with its own unique shape and history.
